There are so many ways to get your product or service in front of the public who is ready to buy. For your home based business to be noticed, I say are they here to ‘buy’, or to seek information. Those pesky little Google spiders love lots of connections, following like as spider web from one place to another on the web, the more quality connections you have, the higher the score you have, the more likely you are to rank high on a Google Search. Over the years blogging has gone from fad to a whole industry. Thousands of people a day are taking up blogging. In part two on blogging, let’s take a deeper look at what might help you get started or to upgrade what you are already doing. Do you have a home based business that is looking for a reasonable income opportunity? If so, blogging very likely will be one of your outreach methods.

If all I see is someone as a business I rarely invite them to be my friend in a network. I want to interact with real people as they will have a richer life and we can connect with ease.

Also when you have created a relationship, open up more about yourself but please – LISTEN. People like to be listened to, not just talked to. Creating relationships takes time but once you have developed a strong relationship with a power player (those serious about their business and successful) they will introduce you to their friends and now your sphere of influence can start to grow.

Again, keep writing articles (content rich and key words) and comment on other peoples work and writings. That is something I make a point to do, scan others notes or articles or digs, what eve the Social Network, and let them know I’m following their work. I’m confident that you are aware of the growing fraud on the internet. Well, I for one don’t think it is necessarily growing in percent but that we are becoming more aware of it due to the mass media, which also includes the internet. One really good thing for the internet is that no one can stop the flow of information. Let’s look to home based business and what is also called work at home business. Why do you think they rank high for internet fraud? Well, one reason is the sheer number of home based businessess.

If there is one thing I’ve web-internet learned in my home based business, it is organization is key. Time is money and money saved is equal to money earned. When you are spending time looking for things it is easy to get frustrated and $$$ are flying out the window as time is wasted. So here are so simple tips for any kind of home business where you are seriously seeking an income opportunity.

Step One: Moving paper around is a part of business, I call it the necessary evil, but over time I’ve learned that the less paper I have and the less time it is handled, the easier to manage.

When computers first came out we all thought, thank goodness, less paper to deal with. Well, it is quite the opposite for some. All home based business people have paper and printing to consider. Before you print, and printing costs money, decide if this document really needs saving. From there, does it need saved in paper format OR can it be saved in a well organized computer file system. Notice I said WELL ORGANIZED COMPUTER FILE SYSTEM. Only if you will use the paper document and need paper copy should it be printed. Don’t be shocked that there are scam artists on the internet, we’ve had flim flam men since before my great grand dad was born; it’s just now that with instantaneous communication on the web the world wide open, these scam artists are more visible. And visible they are. So listen up if you want a check list for weeding out the scams and finding the legitimate businesses.

In a previous article I discussed the need for Activity Management and the benefits it has on de-stressing your life. You must learn to organize your business life and home life in balance or failure will loom over your head. No one has success in any income opportunity if they can't balance their life and business. Today is a great day to start getting organized. What use is a Home Based Business if you are driving yourself to exhaustion and frustration? If you truly are going to work towards that Income Opportunity then being disciplined and organized is a must. I suggest you look back to article part 1 on Activity Management.

A Google Search on Importance of Activity Management can lead you to most everything you need to know. The secret, yes the secret is to use this information on a consistent basis. That leads to business success and Income Opportunity.

First: ONE system that carries all your information in it and I mean everything! I’m going to address the regular person, not the techno jocks which keep up with everything from buying stocks to having a cell phone of sorts beep you when it’s time to buy your mother a birthday present.

You will have to piece together your own system because at this time there is not one available to meet all your needs. Get a zippered Day-Timer of sorts (zippered so really important things don’t fall out). There are three sizes most common, tiny if you have almost nothing going on in your life to manage, medium size and the semi brief case size. I use the Medium Size and have for yours for my home based business.

You need a yearly calendar, monthly calendar showing all seven days of the week (I like the columns going down am to pm, not the squared ones. Daily work pages (left side is the schedule for the day and on the right side you make a list of things to do). Think carefully and write your primary goal. Hand writes it out EVERY DAY, your primary goal for the day and a place to list those things that are scheduled to be accomplished.

Now have a section for an ongoing to do list that everything gets placed on to, except for a separate section for buying groceries. So this ongoing list might have: finish tax preparation, sign kids up for summer camp, call someone, reschedule the date for party, write 5 new blog posts, check back office of web site and contact 5 new people for support, etc. This list gets everything that crosses your mind. NO exceptions. Have column for making a date if it must be done by a certain time. Also prioritize them. Note what things can be cancelled, delegated or put of until appropriated time.

For those things that take multiple tasks, for example plan wedding for Mary: Start a page with the heading ‘Wedding for Mary’ and then start making an ongoing list of everything that will need doing, using the same system as above.

Have a place for Address and email, possibly pass codes, etc. Have a section for taking notes; some folks need a section for clients and your ongoing work with them.

Personalize your system to meet your needs. Everyone has different needs.

Now tie it together. EVERY NIGHT, yes NIGHT, so it settles into your consciousness while you sleep. Do two things; Review what you did accomplish that day. Take note, did you overbook yourself, are you in balance? Some things you will decide are priority and move to next days to do sheet and others you will realize just are not that important. Delegate, Cancel or put on the back burner what you need too. Congratulate yourself for your growing success.

Now, look at your Main Goal, read it again. Go to your to do page and see what tasks need doing TOMORRROW; be sure if you put call George also write down his phone number. Keep things simple. Write only the tasks that need done TOMMOROW so you can quite carrying and worrying about things, holding them in your mind while you try to be productive. Don’t worry, now they are all written down for you and you can let it go. Check your tasks page that has multiple things needing doing. Is there anything on it that needs done TOMORROW? Notice I keep coming back to looking at each day, one day at a time.

Once written down, look it over, is everything there? Did you overbook yourself and need to simplify your life or are you in or out of balance to achieve your goals both business and family.

One more bit of help. Have both a pencil and highlighter in your day timer. Write out all your lists in pencil as things will need to adjust and change as priorities change. Crossing out ink makes a mess and clutter slows productivity, even in a day timer. Now as you complete any task, take the yellow high liner and mark through it so you can easily see your victories. If I’ve called George for example but only got the message machine, I’d put yellow line ½ through it so I know its started but not done.

At the end of the day this gives you a very visual report of your progress. I guarantee it will when followed every day, distress your life (because you aren’t having to hold so many things in your mind) and it will give you a real look at how you work, where you scatter your energies and what you need to shift. In a home based business it is critical you become your very best employer and the very best employee if our income opportunity is going to be a success.

Except for the temptations and challenges that come with warm weather, the call of the beach or local pool, it can be challenging especially if you have school age children. Many of us had as one of the many reasons we started a home based business, was so we could spend more time with the family. But when summer comes all of a sudden your well laid plans of time management can be seriously tested. Yikes what’s a MOM or DAD to do?

Well, number one - realize summer challenges ends with the fall season of school starting.

We’ve all heard it: “I’m bored!”, “There’s nothing to do!”, Whining ….”All the other kids are going to the ….”. We are blessed to be living in the time when more people are finding it advantages to have a |home based businesss|. Most often that means some type of computer work, and with that it’s easy to develop habits that are not ideal for our body; back, neck, shoulder and wrists. The second timer is labeled DRINK to remind me to eat (healthy not junk) and drink fluids (water, tea, juices, etc.), it is so easy to not take good care of myself when I get engrossed with a project – easy to stick my head up, see it’s 2:30 pm and realized I’ve not gotten out of my chair or had breakfast or fluids. NOT a good long term plan.

Over the last 25+ years in one way or another, I’ve been mentoring people that are going into a |home based business|. There are some common mistakes I’ve observed over the years. One is working Capital and expectations.

Capitalization is a key factor.

It is important to take pen to paper and list all the start up cost, then monthly business maintenance costs, having a savings account that you plan on NOT using so it will be there when you do need it.

One is Computer Expenses.

Goals or Gleams for your |Home Based Business|?

Let’s start this off with a definition: Goals are some thing you want AND are willing to put money, time and personal energy into to make sure it happens. Gleams (Dreams) are things we really really want, perhaps talk about all the time, dream about and believe we will do but when the ‘rubber hits the road’, you are not willing to put your money, your time and YOUR energy to make it happen. Your success is in YOUR hands but no matter how many people say it’s easy, don’t worry, you’ll be making a mint in no time, well, it just doesn’t work that way. How do you define your goals and gleams? Start with a spiral note book or journal and pen; get a glass of water, tea, juice or whatever and sit where you can be totally undisturbed. Ponder for a bit on what it is you think you want to create in a |home based business|, get a strong mental picture.

3. Decide what business I am going to work with (or more than one so all eggs aren’t in one basket
4. Who will I look to for leadership and as a mentor
5. Set aside enough money to build and maintain this business until it is consistently bringing in a good profit
6. Develop a Business Plan
7. Figure out time schedule; how to manage family, job, grandkids and everyone who wants a piece of my time
8. Find time for personal Self Care and Relationship time with my husband 9. Where in the house to set up and how
10. Etc. Make as long a list as can come to mind and remember this is an ongoing project. If it pops into your head, write it down. That is why a journal is so helpful, this is an ongoing process.

Now list each one and what problems or what might get in your way – then a solutions or more than one solution. (Example)

1. I don’t know enough about computers and programs to make a good decision – I will contact and interview several computer stores, repair business, web developers, SEOs as necessary to get their opinions. And I’ll do some research on the net but if too difficult will really listen to the repair and maitataince people. Also check with people who are in the business I am in or intend to be in.
2. Find good computer repair person – interview and ask for referrals because my PC business will totally depend on keeping my computers working well. Will they be prompt to my needs, cost, etc.

So you are ready to get that home based business started and you’re hungry for some income opportunity that is right for you and your family. You have found the right place to explore strategies for income opportunities about home based business.

Although Google search can bring literally thousands of articles on income opportunities and home based business; it can also be overwhelming and confusing. I hope to simplify some of the overwhelm that can set in.

No need to wait until Fall to start. I’m going to share Streamline Magic with you but first let’s look at what might hold you back for a couple of months.

Summer Time and the Living is Easy Or is it? Except for the temptations and challenges that come with warm weather, the call of the beach or local pool’ it can be challenging especially if you have school age children. Many of us had as one of the many reasons we started a home based business, was so we could spend more time with the family. But when summer comes all of a sudden your well laid plans of time management can be seriously tested. Yikes what’s a MOM or DAD to do? The income opportunity is there BUT so are the kids and summer is 3 months long.

Here are a couple of ideas that might be helpful.

1. Depending on the age of the kids, adjust when you work. If they have nap times that can be much needed quiet time for you. I like to get up early while the house is quiet, before any one is trying to grab some time that I need for the Business. So while they sleep I do a bit of Yoga to set the intent of the day and then enjoy the silence to work. When the kids wake up, I’m ready for a break and some quality time with them. Also on spring break and summer I not only get up earlier but go to bed a bit later and NO late night TV.

2. Do you have a neighborhood teenager or elder … Older grandmothers or grandfathers can make great caregivers. They have a life time of experience and usually a lot of wisdom and patience.

3. Check out all the summer activities in your area. There are Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Day Camps and Church Camps. Also swimming lessons, crafts, dance classes, gymnastics and in our area a supervised bike rodeo run by the local YMCA. Check for Health Club kids programs and more. Running kids from one activity to the next is not what I mean. But a couple of extra activities a week for fun with someone else doing the driving will give you some more of that quiet time you need and they will love you for it.

4. Sometimes it helps to buddy up with another family that wants to trade days; I’ll take yours on Monday and Wednesday and you take mine on Tuesday and Thursday. With the right person this can work wonders to free up time. Are there other moms with a home based business near you? Talk with some neighbors and friends. More people than you realize want that 2nd income opportunity and have a home based business.

5. Finally, if you're in a pinch trying to meet a deadline or make an important call, bribery works wonders! No, it's not the most highly praised parenting tactic in the book, but it can be quite effective. Tell the kids that if they'll keep it down until you get finished, you'll take them to get ice cream afterwards.

Then Retire! Call 1-800/XXX-XXXX." A brochure for a Utah snack vending machine company reads: "Many People Earn $36,000\year in Income, But . . . Very Few Earn $30,000/year working only five-six hours per week." In another case, a promoter for a gumball machine business opportunity claimed that one operator had earned $14,000 from four machines . . . in just seven days!

"The Department of Justice is committed to enforcing the full disclosure requirements mandated by federal law and to ensuring that persons selling business opportunities do not induce consumers to invest before they have all of the facts," said Frank W. Hunger, Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Civil Division, U.S. Department of Justice.
